About the area: Cecilville is a small unincorporated community in the southwestern part of Siskiyou County.  It is on the south fork of the Salmon River and was originally inhabited by the native tribe called Konemihu, but the community of Cecilville was settled by miners in the late 1800's. The original town was a stage stop called Brownsville and was located on the flat which now holds the back nine of the Salmon River Disc Golf Course and the community farm.  You can see some additional information and photos at www.Cecilville.com. Cecilville is a great place to launch many outdoor adventures.  It’s surrounded by national forests and wildernesses and its residents enjoy the Salmon River, a wild and scenic river known for kayaking and white water rafting.  Nestled between the Russian, Trinity and Marble Mountain wilderness areas, the area boasts extremely diverse flora and fauna, countless trails including the PCT, many little lakes and streams, deer hunting, bear hunting, trout fishing and more.  This is area can feel like going back in time, a place the modern world forgot.  It’s located in Siskiyou County, at the far northern part of the state.   If you are looking for a place to slow down and enjoy all that nature has to offer, this rural area is it!
