• The ranch is located just a few minutes from the small town of Etna, half an hour from Yreka, CA, the Siskiyou County seat. Etna was originally known as Rough and Ready, but the name was changed in the 1800’s. This historic mining town has a population of just under 800 people. There is a grocery store, library, excellent elementary and high schools, and several restaurants, including the Etna Brewery. Yreka has more shopping possibilities, a small hospital, a great historic down town section, and a community college branch.
• This Siskiyou County ranch is at the foot of the Russian Wilderness Area, which is in the Klamath National Forest. The Russian is one of three wilderness areas that form an almost continuous chain, from the Trinity Alps Wilderness to the south, and the Marble Mountain Wilderness in the north, these areas provide an important corridor for wildlife such as the migrating herds of black-tailed deer. The Russian Wilderness is part of the largest nearly roadless complex in northwestern California. This is a fantastic area for hiking, camping, horseback riding, hunting, fishing high mountain lakes & streams, and for outdoor photography.
